I REALLY wish we were able to be successful with 100% of our clients. And when one of them isn’t ready for the help, and reverts back to previous habits, it breaks my heart!
Yesterday one of our clients notified me that she needs to leave the shelter that her and her newborn are staying in because she broke one of their rules. That being said, her social worker may decide to take her newborn away from her. And this particular client already has one son in the foster care system. This very story is an example of what our goal is at Pink Pixie, to break this cycle of homelessness and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Most of our clients don’t understand the value of rules. It usually stems from an abuse cycle when they were young and so they do not like authority. Authority creates rules and so to defy the authority they defy the rules. Their life has mainly been chaos and that’s how they are used to functioning. That’s why bringing God into their life through our Spiritual Mentoring program is SO important. The word “rule” doesn’t have to have a negative connotation. Rules are good and protect us! You definitely tell your child that they can’t touch a hot stove burner because that rule protects them from burning their hand.
The Bible is our “rule” book. It lists an extensive set of instructions and rules for all of us to live by. If we don’t follow those rules there are consequences, some of them final and eternal. We NEVER give up on our clients because we want them to succeed! We want to see their eternal success so one day they can sit at the feet of Jesus.
Please pray for our client. Pray this was her wake-up call. Pray that she will accept the help and follow the rules so she doesn’t continue to live in chaos.
