At a recent event, one gentlemen commented on a poster we had which included photos of three mother’s and their newborns. These were actual women that we’ve helped in the past. His comment was “Oh yeah, women in crisis who have babies? I don‘t think so.” And my heart broke. It’s hard to believe that in this year of 2014 some people are still living in their small bubble of a world where all is good, right, and just.
And then my Christian instincts kicked in, I said a silent prayer for the man, thanking God that this man’s life was so good that he couldn’t believe tragedy could strike such beautiful women. I also asked God to spare this man from any crisis in his life for the rest of his days. Some of you may find this prayer odd, but that is my point. As true Christians we are called to love, pray, and be good witnesses. We are often called to do what seems “odd” as Christ taught us that we should not be of this world. God decides what is just and He is the One who has the last say.
This is why Pink Pixie works the way we do - to love each women, often showing her a love she’s never known which is unconditional. We care about them and want to see them succeed without plans of gaining anything from our efforts. Jesus loves them and so do we!
